July 19, 2020 - At 18 years of age, a lovely northern Rhône style Syrah. Elegant fruit and texture, just a hint of acidity and a gorgeous long finish.

February 29, 2020 - Classy, Northern Rhône-esque Syrah. Restraint personified.

July 7, 2019 - Lovely syrah purity on the nose, violets, black pepper and something like sloe gin. You could be in the Northern Rhone.
Symphony of fruit on the palate, raspberries and plums, just starting to lose a little intensity but still remarkably vigorous. Just starting to take on some leather and spice.
This is excellent. Would love to see where it goes over the next few years.

April 25, 2019 - Much better than my last bottle. Given plenty of decanter time, this felt much more together. Black cherries, charred oak, licorice, fading spice, there was a certain richness to this that has come with age. Tannins felt more integrated this time, no need to hold this any longer, drinking well now and can’t see a lot more upside.

July 17, 2017 - How special and not what I expected - is my first Castagna Genesis. Very European. Smooth, elegant and classical. Evolved but such great colour vibrancy for its age. Gentle dark fruits and hints of spice to finish. Flawlessly balanced. Was possibly preparing to be punched (Aussie Shiraz and all that) but instead I've been seduced.
