July 31, 2010 - Sleek, rich, juicy red fruit. Slight minty, spicy quality.

December 11, 2009 - I'm not generally a purchaser of "own brand" wines, even when they come from top producers but this wine has challenged that assumption. £9 for a southern rhone wine of this quality shouldn't be sniffed at. At first this could be mistaken for a northern rhone - quite gritty and earthy with a nice tannic and acidic streak but over the next 1-2 hours it puts on weight and moves into the more fuller tastes of dark fruits. Very nice balance here. Good depth, not too full, good freshness on the palate as well. Very good. Will keep too, probably 5 years.
