January 20, 2022 - brickish red/brown, thinning lip in color. nose- ripe fruit, youthful. palate- ripe fruit thats mellowed out, bay leaf, bit alcoholic, balanced, light tannins

May 11, 2021 - Good in its own way, but too much alcohol for my taste. Had it with farmer's market salmon and cheese ravioli. The wine opened up a bit, gaining in complexity. At the end, a fair amount of barnyard funk, not in a bad way, then some heat. Served it quite cool.

April 28, 2020 - Over a dozen years in the bottle, consumed over two evenings. Cork was perfect, deep burgundy in color, slightly oxidized on the edges, and clarity is medium. Aroma of plum, flavors of black cherry and sweet fig with a long finish. This wine is balanced and integrated, but nearing the end of life. My last bottle of six, drink up, it is delicious !!!

May 19, 2018 - Dark red in color with slight browning around the edges. Strong aromas of medicinal ripe red cherries/black raspberries, leather, violets and forest floor. Very rich and spherical in the mouth showing crushed ripe blackish red berries, medium (-) acidity, soil tones and a long finish that shows mild tannins in the finish.

August 20, 2016 - Very dark ruby, no real sign of age, with an expected nose of ripe black followed by red fruits. The palate is full, as the nose suggests, and the acidity, while lower than I prefer, was enough to keep it layered and interesting. Probably on the backside of its preferred part of the curve, this is both delicious and mature at this stage and should probably be consumed before 2019 for the best showing. This followed a 2011 Rhys Bearwallow, and while they're two quite different styles and regions, the Rhys was easily more Pinot-like, more complex and ultimately a little more enjoyable. recommended

    PnP, served non-blind.
