July 14, 2019 - Waited a bit too long on this bottle, notes of age and oxidation are present. Spice of the wood and deep cigar notes remain, but fruit character has evolved to a stewed notes. Less rich than expected. Still worked with the meat , however guests began blendeding with young merlot.

August 17, 2016 - Rich and precise. Inky, juicy, and showing intriguing Bordeaux-like character. Great acid, good grip, lingering finish. 91-92.

May 30, 2014 - Ripe dark fruits on the nose, thankfully not excessively oaky. Notable Knight's Valley terroir elements on the palate, olive grove, sage, and some pleasant dustiness. Medium plus body, very good concentration and grip. Showing well now, but it still has three to five years of drinking window.

July 19, 2013 - Last had this about 3 years ago. Thought it was fantastic especially at the $20 price point. Really nice nose, medium bodied wine with a pleasant finish.

February 27, 2013 - Pleasantly surprised at how good this is. The nose does not offer much - just some earth and a bit of heat. Lots of Knights Valley terroir on the palate though. Medium-bodied and quite fruity - but with the dusty, herbal character that is unmistakably Sonoma. Has a nice, long finish of black cherries and chocolate, ending with fine-grained tannins. Excellent QPR for this category at around $18.
