Community Tasting Notes 2

March 19, 2011 - Hey, this is all right. In our constant journey to search for drinkable Pinot (you have to be an optimist) we try them all. This one does not blow you away with intense fruit and complexity, but it works. It is a little soft, (possibly sweet) and probably thin, but there are no flaws. The acid does not make your mouth pucker, in fact it rather pleasant. Surprising amount of up front, sweet, almost candied cherry and raspberry flavors. Even the nose smells like cherries. There is a creaminess in the mouth that separates this wine from your usual grocery store, simple, watered down, almost lifeless Pinots. Just a hair past light bodied. Can't discern any oak. Mild, smooth tannins. The finish is chocolate covered cherries.

December 3, 2008 - Wine Cellar - France, Burgundy, 2006 (mostly) (Wine Cellar, Cape Town): (Tasted Blind): A light ruby-purple colour. Shy nose of cherry blossom and scent, oak spices and blue fruits alongside rhubarb and light oaky nuances. It is not a particularly intense entry; a touch of greenness contributes to a slightly unripe bracing acidity, which prominently sticks out whilst the tannins rise and become more drying, curtailing the finish somewhat.
