October 16, 2023 - OK. Fading a bit. Underwhelming fruit yielding to residual tannins. Medium to medium-light bodied. Drink up.

August 18, 2023 - Based on the swell of recent positive reviews on this wine, I opened one of two remaining bottles I have with a plate of [Italian-assembled] cheese ravioli w/ olive-oil, mushrooms, and prosciutto. Nice combo. I found this 3rd bottle more to my liking than the prior two. It was certainly mature to overtly so, but this didn't detract from the well poised dark cherry flavors, great integration of aged tannins, and overall depth the wine presented equally over two nights of tasting. I didn't mark down detailed notes, and the only other meta info I can throw onto this description is to point out this was the first wine tasted after ~18 days dry whilst on island vacation. That's sure to affected my palate, perhaps in this case to the positive in reflecting on this wine.

June 16, 2023 - Brunello 2004 Horisontal (My House): Dark but young and clean cherry fruit with a lovely intensity and structured aftertaste. Showing some age with leather and tobacco.
Very impressive wine and a big surprise in the tasting.
