  July 21, 2013 - Good depth with nice fruit. The wine had a very good finish but is beginning to show its age. Slightly died after being open for a half hour. Fruit was plum, light cherry. Had slight tartness but showed forest floor aromas which i love.

  May 27, 2013 - Pours dark garnet, with significant legs with tiny suspended particles of crud being visible. Initial whiff was of that old wine funk, but it blows off quickly. Initially a bit muted, after it's in the glass for some time it just opens up, with a magificent bouquet of wet earth, flowers, dark fruit and mushrooms.. textbook mature Burg territory, and getting more intense as it sits in the glass. Body is on the heavy side, this is definitely not a lightweight. Flavors are much of the same dark fruit, earth, forest floor, all appearing in your palate in different, evolving layers. Finishes extremely long, with some salty mineral kick and significant acidity that seemed to mellow out with air time. Tannins creep up as you keep drinking, but are mostly subdued, providing just enough grip. The intensity of pretty much every aspect of this wine has increased significantly in the glass.
