March 9, 2007 - Strong showing for a what seems like a good QPR wine. A hint of tart cranberry amidst otherwise ripe, pure cherry fruit. Nice texture and excellent balance. Quite primary but drinking well with minimal air.

October 4, 2006 - This didn't seem completely ripe and probably for this reason seemed a bit high in acidity. Further, I felt the tannins were a bit harsh. Nose was, however, very nice. I find it difficult to make a prediction about the future of this wine. It will certainly last longer - but I'm not sure if it will benefit too much of more bottle age.

April 18, 2006 - After the disappointing showing at the Le caveau tasting (I thought it was clearly corked but not many agreed) back to its usual showing. Very good wine with intense aromatics, fine tannins and stunning length in a masculine style. I like it a lot!

February 6, 2006 - Brilliant dark ruby color. Rather expressive nose featuring black raspberries, cherries and a smoky, earthy note so typical for Roty. Nevertheless, the wood only plays a background note and adds to the complexity. Fantastic to sniff without even drinking. On the palate, I found it equally expressive with smoky black fruits, a very concentrated middle-palate and relatively fine tannins. For me, perfectly integrated acidity giving definition to the precise flavors. A great Marsannay that drinks well now but will hold for quite some time. Drank the remainder two days after opening - no oxidation discernible, so I guess this will age gracefully.
