July 2, 2022 - Chris's Italian Dinner at QCH (Quality Chop House, Farringdon Road, London): Dark red with some tar, balsamic, and black cherry notes on the nose. Palate seemed a bit muddled and lacking in clarity and disappointing in the circumstances given the pedigree of the appellation and reputation of the producer. The bottle did not seem to be faulty or atypical and not one to cellar further in hope of transformation.

July 2, 2022 - Chris’ Italian Feast (Quality Chop House): This was the shiest Barolo on the nose by some way though it has to be seen in light of that competition - it also suffered from appearing at the point in the evening where my notes tend to dry up.

Overall this has classic Barolo elements but felt a little muted. Hard to know where this is right now - perhaps this will deepen and have some added complexity in time or perhaps it's time to drink up.

Not rated as didn't take extensive notes

July 2, 2022 - Chris's Italian Feast (The Quality Chop House): Started somewhat blank on the nose, then brought notes of cedar, fruit pastille and truffle... which sounds potentially delicious, but wasn't at all as enticing as tonight's other Nebbiolo wines. Fairly rich on the palate, with a lot of fruit, a splash of balsamic and a slightly dry finish.

September 12, 2020 - Bricking throughout, dust and earth on the palate

July 20, 2018 - Definitely on the downslope. Tired fruit, light brick red, advanced for age. Possible suboptimal storage along the way.
