  March 2, 2023 - From the beginning I thought it had turned to to sherry but you must let them wake up slowly and there it was. Powerful , smooth , dark berries , a bit of chocolate. Drinkable , yes! But at it’s end.

  February 19, 2023 - Decanted for sediment and bottle funk for 30 minutes. Garnet in glass with obvious bricking to a wide tan rim. Very expressive aromas of raspberry, leather, dried herbs, and dry leaves. The palate followed with leather, damp earth, raspberry, strawberry, and dried herbs with fully resolved tannins. A low-medium acidity cleared to a medium finish leather and dry leaves. This was past peak and declining I think but was hanging on with some bright red fruits to balance the tertiary notes and acid. Overall, a really nice, fully mature bottle. I would gladly drink this again.

  February 27, 2021 - 4th Saturday Brown Bagger (Eagle Brook CC): Double decanted off its sediment and recorked, served with dinner three+ hours later. Crimson core with a slight bit of bricking. Red berry fruit, herbaceous franc elements and spice. Lovely. 90+ pts.

  October 5, 2020 - wow. purchased from the Once and Future release in 2019. incredibly alive with powerful fruit and cracked pepper notes. Color had almost no fade at all, had more color than a 2009 Barolo opened next to it. this was just flat out delicious. would never have picked 1996 Cali Cab Franc... in the best way. this particular bottle had another decade in it at least... but why wait??
