January 24, 2024 - Best bottle yet from this case. Upper shoulder fill.

December 16, 2023 - Incredible nose. This one was slightly shorter and dusty on the finish.

December 9, 2023 - Spectacular nose. Amazing color. This put on weight with about an hour of air. Glossy texture.

December 8, 2023 - Birthday Celebration (State Street Manor & Racquet Club - Chicago IL): Walk around tasting, brief note from memory. Tasted 10-15 minutes after popped-and-poured. Enchanting aromas, the best of aged and enticing Bordeaux. Good flavors, less exciting but still beguiling. This was 92 points for me, but I'm told this put on weight and picked up intensity with more air.

October 24, 2017 - Popped and poured this for my birthday dinner with friends (blind), including an ex som and French friend. I was really expecting nothing from this wine as I've had many old St. Emilion's. Purchased this at Christies auction about a year ago. The wine did not disappoint at all. First impressions was very smoky meat on the nose, with dark forest berries on the taste. Guess were outside of France, as this wine was quite young and powerful for its age (sign of a great vintage?). Guesses were around 1982. The wine stayed strong until the bottle was empty, about 2 hours. Wish there was more from this source. I gave it a 90 score due to its drinkability, youth, fruit and complexity - an atypical St. Emilion for sure, but very happy this roll of the dice worked out.
