September 24, 2023 - Aged Reds Dinner - Savoury Roast Pork Tenderloin with mushroom ragout, rice pilaf and sautéed green peas and leeks. Used a Durand opener and gently decanted into narrow neck vessel for 30 mins tops. This was so fresh, a testament to the consistent storage as well as the quality of the fruit. 80/20 Cab Sauv/Sangiovese. Vibrant. pure tertiary fruit, massive savoury layer of tapenade, espresso, roasted pecan and cocoa with sea salt and caramel. The balance was extraordinary. Long, deep finish. WOTN.

July 2, 2022 - Fine wine! Raisins, bit of leather, smooth, strong tannins. Needs half an hour in the glass to open up.

March 15, 2022 - Perfect amount of Brett, more elegant but a little dilute on the finish. Herbal and ripe, eucalyptus black cherry and olives. Drink up now

    June 9, 2021 - 1991 Antinori Solaia. Alc 12.5%
80 Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Sangiovese. Still dark color.
Cassis and menthol. Still tons of fruit. Hint of cigar tobacco. The Sangiovese shows through. Gently sweet long finish
    Really wonderful
Was $89 when I bought it... a bit more now

December 19, 2019 - Medium clear red. Sweaty, nutty herbal red cherry with a hint of cedar box. Very dery herbal red fruit flavours and a very tannic finish. The fruit and tannins will never be balanced, yet this is a very enjoyable wine.

Much better and more traditional then the Napa style fruit bomb the 1990 is.
