  March 26, 2015 - Drank over two days but did not decant - mistake. Needs a long decant to open up and realize fully potential (left a glass out overnight and amazing change). Fat, viscous style with some edge on the finish -- black olive, earth. Spice, saline and dark red fruit on the nose.

  February 3, 2012 - Wine confuses me as it is very viscous and fat. Yet the fruit is dark but muted as if hidden behind a wall of cellophane. The wine has notes of olive, bacon fat and grease. Actually tasted good but wierd. No tannin or acid evident.

  December 23, 2011 - Black purple color, classic oak barrel nose. Smooth, velvety, with a medium long finish. Jammy red fruit. Full-flavored with great mouth feel. Hard to believe was same wine we had a week earlier--and this was more typical of our reaction to Rocca wines.

  December 15, 2011 - Thin white rim moving to dark purple. Even, slim legs. A better aroma (oak barrel and musty) than taste for us. A bit hot.
