Community Tasting Notes 13

December 15, 2013 - At home with Lucy's Meatballs and angel hair pasta.

Past its prime, havent had this in a few years. Last bottle. Medium red/brick color. Nose was red fruit, earth, mushrooms. Palate repeats. Medium body and finish. Rustic Chianti that is still good with red sauce pasta dishes - worked well for what we had. Drink now, on its way down.

November 14, 2009 - had a large group for wine party to raise funds for a local charity, put this wine out and someone was raving about it, did not taste.

March 1, 2009 - Drank in March 2009 - past the drinking window. Nose of cherries, currants, very peaty almost like some scotches. Palate of cherries, coffee, licorice, leather. Nice & strong for a Chianti.

December 8, 2008 - Good drinking wine, but nothing great. Nose had fruit and earth in it and there was good fruit in the body. Nice acid and enough tannin to make for a decent finish. Really opened up with the second glass. Served with turkey breast roasted with a stuffing that included toasted pecans, sun dried tomatoes and parmigiana regiano, thyme and sage. Nice match with the food

August 10, 2008 - Medium body, softer tannins. Opened nicely after about 30 minutes.
