June 13, 2020 - Ripe dark fruit, earthy, elegant and still lively. Has enough structure to hold on for a few more years. Very nice.

February 6, 2019 - Mature, almost fortified notes, lots of ripe red fruit, cocoa, coffee, basil. Drinking nicely, heavily sedimented though.

June 2, 2018 - Initial pnp then Decanted for 45 minutes while dining on brie, berries, prosciutto and salami. Dark brick red. This wine is showing its age. Tart cherry and earth on the nose with cherry/berry and wet stones on the palate. A quintessential bdm. So sad that iis was my last bottle.

August 20, 2017 - Bought a ½ case from the Wine House in '09. I gave a couple away but my first experience with the VdS in this vintage. Has the characteristic polish I have come to expect from this house. Black cherry, fresh black pepper, some bell pepper, and tobacco. There is a lusciousness to this that really needs food and it worked supremely well with homemade pappardelle and meatballs/tomato sauce. This is fairly typical and highlights how lovely the 04s are drinking now. While not a show-stopper this is solid and will hold its head high. Viva Italia!

April 24, 2017 - Classic Brunello. Decanted the wine for 10 hours before consuming and this really allowed the wine to open up.
