  August 5, 2023 - 1996 Rhone and Burgundy (Bronte): suitably pale red colour with a hint of brick
  sweet aged cherry fruit fragrance, lifted bright tones, a little spice and soft earth
  delicious fruit and lightly spiced flavours dominate, red and dark cherry, some floral notes, tending red and with a hint of cherrystone zest. soft across the palate and finishing gently with now quite soft tannins, acidity is enough to support it though.
  beautiful old burgundy, well preserved.

  April 14, 2017 - deep red with no sign of brick even.
  lovely pure fruit-driven fragrance, dark cherries and damson
  super refined palate, good depth of flavour, silky texture, superbly preserved bottle (the benefit of late cellar releases) still very fruit-driven. darker fruits plus a hint of spice but no real sign of development. special.

  December 23, 2016 - Faded colour but still with a nice deep red hue.
  Bright red cherry, cherry stone zest, more fruity than earthy, but with a notable earthy edge.
  Beautifully aged burgundy. Delicate, still fruit driven but with a distinct earthy spicy edge. Sour cherry zest typical of slb, that slight rawness, some astringency on the finish. Fruit has faded but is still intense and enjoyable, very youthful given its 45 years.
