June 5, 2021 - Nice dark coloring when poured. A bit of plum along with some boysenberry on the nose. Completely smooth, but a big wine and probably overwhelming when young. Of all the single vyd syrahs. this one most closely resembles the 'Black Label Reserve' made 20 years back. Lots of backbone and plenty of life remaining.

February 1, 2013 - A perfect selection for a cold winter night with the fireplace burning in the background. A bit clumsy right after being poured with even a bit of unexpected heat. It quickly smoothed and rounded out with rich flavors of black ripe plum, blackberry and boysenberry with perfect balance and heft. It evolved nicely in the glass, while offering a rich and flavorful drinking experience.
