Community Tasting Notes 6

November 7, 2012 - Delightful if simple. Poised, good cut, moderate concentration, very elegant and classy.

February 28, 2011 - I completely failed in waiting longer for the '06 Clavelier Bourgogne. This bottle is just great for the appellation- complex on the nose, with mouthwatering acids, a bit of tannins to round out the structure. The palate is lacking in a little bit of density, giving away the only hint this is a regional wine and not something higher up in the scale. For the price I paid, I'd buy and drink this all day long.

January 26, 2011 - A very nice Bourgogne. Starting to develop some aged characteristics- a bit of orange peel -but closes down after a few hours. Will wait a bit for my next bottle.

August 7, 2010 - Takes a couple of hours to open. Exceedingly obviously Burgundy. Pure sappy mildly tart cherry fruit galore with touches of strawberry and a bit of stoney / earthy complexity. Primary, sweet, juicy and delicious. Should have a great life ahead though plenty enjoyable now. Excellent QPR.

August 27, 2009 - No nose, and it comes across as a bit dilute and short, soI think this is just shut down. Hope it opens back up again.

Rockss and Fruit

(Bruno Clavelier Bourgogne "Pinot Noir - Les Champs D'Argent" - " Vieilles Vignes") Tannic and stony for five minutes then the tannins melted away in like five minutes and what was left was a supple wine with a kinky nose of cinnamon, citrus, dried tea leaves and earth. Palate was some light cherry fruit, tangy citrus and spice. Nice nose, if a bit broad. Palate lacked depth. It was very silky and had super balance but was missing something. Probably could use more stuffing.
