September 3, 2018 - Cork failed on extraction. Nose of white pepper, blackberry, dry leaves, maybe a bit of currant? Generous palate with lots of berry fruit, a little strawberry? Medium coarse tannins in the middle, feels quite acid which will be great with dinner tonight. This is my last bottle of the 2007 Amphora Pedroni CF, which was my introduction to serious California winemaking - what an adventure it's been. Still holding up very well, if you still have some, and I'd happily buy another half dozen, but the 2010 and 2012 are great too...

May 30, 2017 - Nose of garrigue, white pepper, red plum, quince, raspberry, a bit of caramel. Palate follows nose, surprising medium-coarse tannins. I reviewed the previous bottle as over the hill and fading - clearly that one was flawed. This bottle is solid, vibrant, hitting all the notes. Definitely mature and should be polished off in the next year or five. But it's brilliant, as good as anything Dry Creek Valley has to offer. Kudos to Amphora!

April 21, 2017 - Cork failed on extraction. Nose now more barnyard, dirt. Blackberry still there but in the background. Still very pleasing on the palate, blackberry and blueberry, cab franc dirt, but starting to come apart. This was the first Rick Hutchinson wine I ever tasted, and was a stunner. Still enjoyable today, but past its prime (as any cab franc would be at ten years). Drink up, and remember past greatness...

July 16, 2015 - Incredibly full-bodied, well-structured wine. Rich with cassis, white pepper & fennel against a core of blackberries & baked cobbler. A wine that lingers beautifully like an engaging musical score...
