September 27, 2020 - After an hour of decanting the beast of a wine came out of the decanter. Amazing wine with pure, ripe, and fresh fruit flavors, and solid acid and tannin structure. Full-bodied, with long length and pleasant structure. Has enough tannin for another decade. Makes me seriously regret the money I spend on overpriced wines around the world, from Bordeaux to Napa to Australia to Burgandy to Tuscany, you name it, even Vega Sicilia.

May 18, 2017 - Tasted next to the 1999. Dark fruit notes, mineral, spicy, floral on the nose. Lovely brooding fruit on the palate, good tannic grip, spicy. Very long, mineral finish. Very impressive. My WOTN. 93-95
