October 20, 2017 - After allowing some time for it to open, it was delicious. Long finish.

July 30, 2017 - Needs some time to open up, but then it drinks very well.

December 13, 2016 - I had low expectations for this bottle, after reading some other ratings. I bought this from auction a year ago and popped it open for my birthday, giving it a quick aerate and decant. I was pleasantly surprised. The nose from the initial pour was inviting (had the signature nose of many HALL Cabernet wines), as was the dark brick color. The taste won me over really quickly, reminding me of the 2013s I purchased, but far more mellow. The fruit forward was beautifully balanced with the post-vegetals, and the finish lingered long. Very impressed, and makes me excited to age the newer bottles I purchased.

February 7, 2016 - Decanted for about 1.5 hours before starting to drink, drinking over next two. Definitely agree with others that this is big and over-extracted. As long as you stand it up to something with some fat on it though, that seems to do the trick. No semblance of balance whatsoever, but its good if a hedonistic Napa Cab is what you are looking for.

December 31, 2014 - Harsh at opening. 2 Hour decant. Settled down quite a lot but still had an edge to it. To me, slightly over-extracted. That said, it really came into it's own standing up to dry porcini rubbed, dry-aged, flame seared then grilled, then dusted with aged gorgonzola NY Strips. If a giant cali cab can truly be a food wine by because of it's size and bite, this was it. Didn't love it out of the bottle. Amazing after a 2 hour decant and paired with a very rich steak. (Side Note, we went back to an unfinished bottle of what is considered a brilliant 94pt cab on cellar tracker - still good, but a shadow of the Hall Daimond Mtn. Thought that was interesting).
