December 5, 2019 - Still liked the tobacco and earthy flavors yet over the edge at this point.

June 21, 2015 - First day tight with tar, rubber, sharp tannins and acidic tart , second day smooth round dark fruits balanced

June 15, 2015 - A blend of 85 percent Syrah and 15 percent Grenache. This wine was nearly undrinkable in its youth (totally over-oaked) ; the oak influence is more rounded now (although still quite present) and the tannins are better integrated. Intense dark red in color and a complex bouquet of plum, wild herbs, leather and some earthy tones. The powerful palate shows ripe black fruit intermixed with peppery notes and a touch of menthol. Long, slightly drying finish. This wine needs to be decanted at least two hours in advance. Drink it now through 2017.

January 1, 2015 - Fruit in decline, drying finish, but easy to drink and even worked with Chinese food.

February 23, 2014 - Fruit beginning to tame but still richly extracted and showing some gamey complexities. Dark red fruits are vibrant and refreshing. Lots of ripe tannins. Pepper dominates spicy component. I'm saving my last bottle till 2017 but nobody will be disappointed drinking it now. Got lamb?
