  June 6, 2014 - Just a fantastic Russian River pinot. Loads of black and red cherries, a touch of earthiness and slight tar. This had very nice acidity and was still very fresh a lively for an '07.

This hasn't aged as gracefully as I'd hoped, favoring, instead, lots of cola aromas and flavors, which is fairly atypical for a Moshin single-vineyard wine. Notwithstanding this, the wine proved solid alongside a plate of lamb chops and roasted brussel sprouts. Med+ body, with flavors and aromas of balsam wood, cola, balsamic and freshly picked strawberries dominating on the night. Good toward very good. This particular bottle may not be respresentative, and if that's the case, I'm guessing this wine hasn't even hit peak yet. 14,1% abv, drink thru 2018

In the mouth, vibrant and tangy, with a tart edge to the black cherry notes, which play nicely with the deep earthy tones and lifting baking spice. Strong acidity. Solid finish. A-
