August 21, 2010 - Very nice "Old World" nose on top of the typical mushroomy terroir. Lighter body but intense flavors on the palate. Great with southwestern cuisine. Another Va La triumph!

August 23, 2009 - This is a PA wine, which you would not expact much from. However, it has a spectacular cigar box flavo that I've only previously experieneced in old CA pinot noirs and more recently in CA Ziinfandels. For PA this is a tour de force. Maybe the best I''ve tasted. As a reident of PA, it certainly makes me want to go and taste this vineyard's wines. Still has a bitterness on the palate, but this is minor compared to the distincitive cigar-box flavor.

May 12, 2009 - Ribs and Spades with Ken and Kelly (Anns, Avondale, PA): A blend of Corvina, Nebbiolo and Barbera. This is the best Va La red I have had.
