July 5, 2019 - Second recent bottle of this that was well over the hill. Drink ‘em up. Still decent but seems to be fading quickly.

November 3, 2018 - Needed some time to wake up, and felt partially shut down throughout. Nice, if understated, nose of black cherry and sweet vanilla, but any oak toastiness was long gone. Minimal earth or herbal elements detected. As a whole, it was a bit simple and youthful, considering it’s a 12 year old vintage. Makes up for its lack of complexity with a super velvety, yet assertive palate. A better pairing with braised short ribs than grilled steak.

August 19, 2017 - Pop and pour with splash decant. Ready to drink and peaking (falling flat near the end). The note before says it all. Plums, prune, and menthol. Drink now.

(Chimney Rock Tomahawk Vineyard Cabernet Stags Leap Sauvignon) COLOR-dark; NOSE-it has a great nose; PALATE-this is extremely well made and extremely good, although I must admit that, at this time, my palate is Ia little tired of Cabernets; GV-No Score
