December 2, 2023 - Blackberry, chocolate, cassis, licorice; full and intense, rich, very long, showing age, but well shaped and very good indeed

August 18, 2021 - PnP. 15 min. opened up as much as it could. Time To drink/Prime or a little past. Shows some age. Great nose, some structure, minor finish.

January 8, 2021 - Simply outstanding! Opened and decanted 2 hours before having with beef short ribs. Huge smooth body of deep aged blackberrys.

January 25, 2020 - Wow...this heavyweight is still swingin’ a mean knockout punch! Decanted for about 30 minutes before drinking, and it opened up beautifully. Drank with a standing rib roast and horseradish cream sauce, and it is still amazing. More complex than I remember, with a blend of red fruit including sweet raspberries, with an undercurrent of blackberry cobbler. Let this fall over your tongue before swallowing, and you will be amazed by how this beauty dances around.

Sorry this was my last one in the cabinet...

December 27, 2019 - Opened about 1 1/2 hours before drinking. I don’t think it was over the hill but it is clearly on the right side of the curve.
Fully integrated and technically very good. Checks all the Napa Cab boxes. Except the fruit is pretty much faded into the background.
This may have been overshadowed by the Staglin (a lot of wines would have been). Solid. Just didn’t wow me.
If you have any drink it up.

(Chimney Rock Tomahawk Vineyard Cabernet Stags Leap Sauvignon) COLOR-dark; NOSE-it has a great nose; PALATE-this is extremely well made and extremely good, although I must admit that, at this time, my palate is Ia little tired of Cabernets; GV-No Score
