September 26, 2021 - Solid vintage. Cedar wood mocha, pronounced cassis. Baking spice (clove, cinnamon) on the nose hints of anise and slight earthy finish. Great to explore this vintage.

July 20, 2021 - Brick red and amber rim. Very Slightly minty on the nose. Lovely red fruits in the palate, initially decent depth but fades in the glass. At plateau but a pleasurable drink

December 14, 2017 - Tasting of 2 Pomerols 1989 vintage, at lunch with Kathy, Virgie, and Joe, nose of mocha chocolate, red and black cherry fruit, black currants, touch of bret, and forest floor, same on the palate, big body, very tasty, bigger body and more power than the Chateau L'Eglise Clinet, our favorite today, at its peak but holding well, long finish. Picture added.

  • Abanker Does not like this wine: flawed

October 7, 2017 - flawed, musk nose and musk taste. very disturbing since I just purchased wine in St Emillion in June of this year from a reputable negotiant

July 17, 2016 - Wow, this wine has terrible reviews. I didn't know before I got it. This was tasted blind in a flight of 1982 and 1989 Right Bank Bordeaux and I picked it up to match the 1982 of the same Chateau. It was my 6th and came in 6th. The 1982 Bon Pasteur was totally maderized and was in 7th.

This wine was particularly unimpressive. Some said it was corked and I think it might have been. But maybe it was just bad or passed its prime, based on the other reviews. There was a leafy funky note on the nose and palate. It was very austere with little aromatics. Very simple on the palate with a leafy stoniness. The flight had 5 amazing wines and then this pretty unimpressive bottle by comparison. The 1982 Latour Pomerol won the tasting and was incredible, so you can't go blast this Chateau entirely.

    Group's 6/7, My 6/7.
