February 15, 2020 - Classic old style Barolo, full of tar, acidity, and earth. All things considered, holding together quite well for the year and its age.

February 27, 2013 - Cork was completely disintegrated. This was a wild beast right out of the bottle, some musty and Maderized aromas, I was worried like the previous reviewer. Set aside to get some air and after two hours it was pretty good, three hours better. This wine is going to need food to show best, it's all tertiary, but the right dish could really set it off- something with plenty of dark umami. Unfortunately my meal was relatively disappointing so that didn't happen.

December 29, 2012 - Cork was torched...completely disintegrated, and had to push ~1/3 of it into the bottle. Brick red, browning at the edges...I was scared for the first 1+ hour, as this showed nothing but a little dustiness, cardboard, and hints of tea, nuts, earth, madeirized grossness. I left it in the decanter for 2 hours and it turned into a different beast. The nose gained power, and a raisined, but delicious tea, chestnut, and tarry component. What a transformation! This was awesome by the last glass, and it just goes to show how some of these bottles can be great if given enough air. Would buy again for $100. 86 at the beginning, 92+ by the end.
