  May 19, 2009 - "CantinArte" is a new upcoming winery in the southern part of the Abruzzi region (province of Chieti). 100 percent Montepulciano d' Abruzzo wine that spent 18 months in oak barrels. Limited production, only 3000 bottles/year. Intense ruby-red colored wine with a quite closed nose that opened up after three hours in the decanter with scents of cranberry, plum, dried fruits and some mineral nuances. The palate is full-bodied with a solid structure and very chewy tannins, but also with a good amount of fruit underneath. A slightly bitter but long aftertaste. This wine needs several more years of cellaring to smooth the sharp edges.
  
  "CantinArte" is een jong, dynamisch wijndomein uit de zuidelijke Abruzzen (provincie Chieti). De wijn wordt gemaakt van 100 percent Montepulciano d' Abruzzo-druiven en verbleef 18 maanden op eiken vaten. Zeer beperkte productie, slechts 3000 flessen per jaar. Intense robijnrode kleur met een aanvankelijk vrij gesloten neus, die zich na een langere decanteertijd mooi opende met aroma’s van veenbes, pruim, gedroogd fruit en ook wat minerale elementen. Krachtige smaak met een degelijke structuur en stevige tannines, maar ook met heel wat onderliggend fruit. Lange afdronk met een licht bitter tintje. De wijn heeft nog wel wat jaren nodig om echt op dronk te komen.
