February 25, 2015 - Mature Cote de Beaune: 1959 to 1990 (Langham Place Hotel, Mongkok, Hong Kong): Half-glass drank blind at a pre-dinner tasting with a few top-ups over dinner. Very young-looking transparent and brightly jewel ruby in colour. Nose is gorgeous pastilled strawberries with a ton of underlying damp sous-obis and ferns....wow! Palate shows a lot of structure (apparently it is double-oaked)....rich, smoky, unctuous....lovely....totally more-ish..... has just entered its drinking window but will definitely improve. Absolutely gorgeous. My 2/12, Group's #2.
