October 17, 2012 - With more age this wine has mellowed. It still has the same "musky" profile, thick mouth feel, relatively short finish. The nose is apples and sage, acids tickle the sides of your mouth, soft fruit in the mid palate but then falls off sharply. Almost nutty finish with slight touch of bitterness.

Very nice with food. Great on its own if you like to think about things when you drink and not just hear yourself talk.

If you are starting to look for an application to the ABC club (anything but chardonnay), this is one you should most definitely consider taking a swig of. If you can find it. At the prices this comes in at (sub-$15) state-side, its a "best buy" for those who have an adventurous spirit and like a little meat on the bones where whites are concerned.

April 25, 2011 - This bottle shows just a touch of oxidation and is not as spry or complex as the last, and the apple skin characteristics that are apparently typical of this variety are certainly on display. It's hardly dead though: it's still snappy and tasty.

March 10, 2011 - A spry wine, fresh as spring, can this really be 5 years old? The lift is effortless, and yet density almost sneaks into the midpalate, and it gains a touch more weight with air, though never sacrificing its crisp edge. This varietal mauzac is oak aged, and you'd almost never guess it. The almond and herbal bitterness in the finish is reminiscent of Chignin-Bergeron. Demeter-certified. How in the world is this only $13?

January 7, 2011 - Lemon-lime color, lemon and tart apple nose. The palate is more savory, apple cider and wax, with more body than I expected after tasting the sparkling variety. Medium finish mineral rather than tart.

April 4, 2010 - Rich and buttery, well balanced - almost Burgundian style?
