Community Tasting Notes 5

February 10, 2022 - This was harsh on first opening. It took quite a lot of air to even out. Still rather dense. After a lot of air I enjoyed it. My last bottle will go into the cellar category "maybe one day this will be an interesting very old wine." All sorts of wines turn out this way, if you like old ones.

May 25, 2016 - 90 only just because i gave it 90 last time. This time it seemed very tannic. But a glassful left in the decanter overnight looked pretty good next morning, so i think it's good for the long haul. Nice texture.

January 1, 2016 - It was a bit bretty. Brought back memories of when we drank Bordeaux.

Colour showing very little age, a bit surprising.

Nose, as i said, a bit bretty but some complexity.

Palate very good, well balanced, dry and fine. Well liked by a diverse group. (I got barely a taste as I was the kitchen slave).

November 18, 2010 - Too bretty to pick out anything else. I have a fairly high tolerance but this bottle was terrible.

October 6, 2010 - Deep plum colour. Great nose offering up plums, blackcurrants, leather, spice. Rich palate with huge fruit, but soft with nice tanin/acid balance.
