  June 11, 2012 - The 2008 Cali 351 is niether over the hill nor thin and lacking fruit or acidity as another taster has mentioned. It is anything but. The Cali 351 is full of multiple citrus notes in the nose with excellent full acidity. It is hitting its peak now in 2012. With a dish of pasta with shellfish in a olive oil, achovy, Italian parsley, grape tomatoes, fresh monzarella cheese, garlic and caper sauce it was an excellent accompaniment, counter balancing all the distinctive flavors of the dish. This is a very good Sauvignon Blanc, different in style from the tropical fruit, slightly sweet offerings, more like a good Bordeaux Blanc or Chablis. This will be an excellent shellfish or fish wine.

  July 13, 2011 - Bottle #2, this time drunk in the quiet of home - and the reason that I didn't keep notes for the previous bottle becomes apparent. No nose, no fruit on the palate, thin mouthfeel, no acidity to speak of, and a short, bitter finish. Whether a sub-par wine or simply one past its prime, this is a serious disappointment. A really poor example of SB.
