April 11, 2019 - Last minute late night at Chateau Davyd.
Appearance is slight hazy, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of dark red cherries, sweet earth, cinnamon spice, mint, roasted nut, root veggies and brown stems. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), smooth but still structured medium tannins, medium + body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of savoury earth, minty cola, sweet dark red cherries, cinnamon spice, beetroot, ripe brown stems. Long finish.
Very good quality. Nice aged savouriness and vegetable flavours. Time to drink up and enjoy.
    Elke Vineyard in Anderson Valley.

December 1, 2018 - Cellaraid Discovery Box; 5/19/2017-5/26/2021 (Delivered to Home): pale ruby; perfumed nose, acidic and fairly tannic, good intensity, with cherry, cassis, bit of cloves, rose petals, morning dew; enjoyable!

September 10, 2016 - Clear, medium-ruby color. Nuanced secondary aromas of clove, mushroom, lavender, pine needles; along with fig fruit. Good aromatic intensity. Fine and silky on the palate, showing seamless red fig fruit with mineral notes, pine-earth, clove and cardamom spice. Medium-bodied, with elegant density in the mid-palate. Supple tannin, well-integrated acid, and a juicy finish with good length. Plenty of life ahead, but drinking beautifully now.

November 8, 2015 - Potent red cherry nose. The palate is intense red cherry fruit, black pepper, some stalkiness which adds interest and provides a nice savoury edge on the finish.

March 7, 2015 - Ojai/Santa Barbara (Ojai and Santa B): Much more secondary on the nose than previous bottles. Good dry earthy notes, some barnyard, and a touch of alcohol, tea leaves and darker red fruit. On the palate, slightly one-dimensional and a bit out of balance with maybe a bit too much acidity and a hint of bitterness. Maybe this wasn't a great bottle, but this wasn't one of my favorites.
