August 22, 2023 - The nose is beautifully black cherry, blackberry, anise, and leather. A bit of an oxidative note fades in and out, but was not a detractor for me.

Palate is still quite rich, but interestingly this gains freshness as it opens up. Licorice. Black Cherry, Anise, Leather, Mint and cocoa notes. Great mid-palate and good length.

Finish is good, spicy and some cedar with dark berry notes. However it does lack the energy and vivacity seen in larger format.

December 25, 2022 - Nose: dark berries, blackberry, dark cherry, leather, graphite, sweet raspberry and a bit of cedar. Perfumed and well constructed nose with so much fresh fruit. Palate: The entry is excellent with moderate weight, pencil, leather, plum, blueberry and cassis. Mineral and sage pop in the midpalate and tee up a long finish. Finish: the blackberry, cassis and cherry with leather and hints of herb.

This was served in 3L for Christmas dinner and we had about 2/3 of a bottle that hung out overnight and was sealed under vacuvin

Day 2 - This really had another phase with 24 hours open, and an explosive her and berry element came out. Roasted rosemary, sage and eucalyptus with nice dried black fruit underneath.

August 3, 2014 - Brilliant plum color in the glass with hints of red and orange around the edges. Lovely bouquet of blackberry, boysenberry, and red cherry fruit with a touch of wood, more of the same on the palate, mouth filling richness of older cabernet sauvignon, supple and round, medium body, and medium/long finish. Poured from a magnum in my cellar over the last four nights, slightly better the second and third nights.

July 3, 2013 - From a 750 ml bottle that was filled from a 9 liter bottle a week earlier. Bright red plum color the glass. Lovely nose of dark cherry fruit with hints of lavender and spice box, more of the same on the palate, mouth filling richness of older cabernet sauvignon, 33 years old to be exact, medium body, medium finish. Thank you Alex for the three pours!
