Community Tasting Notes 7

April 14, 2015 - There is something chemical about the nose of so many 2007s, and this is an example. Not really a very pleasant wine to be frank, but perhaps (I'm not over-optimistic) it will improve.

January 10, 2015 - Overly dry and tannic. Medium weight and a little tight, even after 3 hrs in the decanter

November 4, 2012 - Deep colour. Nose of old framboise and charred oak. Dry on the palate. Middle weight. No feebleness. Tannins seem a bit coarse and oak bolstered, but this is a pretty good effort..

April 25, 2011 - Good – clear dark ruby / purple; fruit on nose; off-dry; strong tannins despite being decanted 3 hours before drinking; full bodied; mid acidity; min to long finish; taste of red fruit (cherries) – lovely balance but still quite a young wine despite long decant.

November 13, 2010 - Fairly tight at first but it started to open up after 3 hours in the bottle. Dark ruby/purple in colour. On the nose, there were dark and red cherries, french oak, roasted coffee and a hint of earthiness. On the palate, it was medium to full bodied, fairly rich with some good acidity and fine tannins. The finish was long.
