Community Tasting Notes 11

November 3, 2012 - Pale yellow. Flowery, stoney, limey, but a little too sweet on it's own. Nice pairing with risotto and pheasant sauce. Medium finish.

July 15, 2012 - Aerated in a Decanter for 1 hr and served chilled

Fragrant aromas of lemon, melon, cantaloupe and apricots. The aromas of the fruit transcends to the palate and is fresh and light and not overly sweet with little oak. The style fits somewhere between a chardonnay and savignon blanc. Most enjoyable with Salmon and Mash Potatoes.

May 16, 2011 - See previous notes. Full and lovely palate.

April 15, 2011 - Popped and let breathe for one hour. Straw and light brass in colour. This enchanting Viognier is luscious on the nose; with flower shop, bread dough, fruity pebbles, citrus and mineral. The palate really exhibits mineral and an orange quality, with balanced acid. Long and vibrant; this will be a joy with a wide range of food. Drink now - 2014.

January 29, 2011 - Pop and pour. Pale straw. Lemon verbena and lilacs on the nose. Powerful mid palate showing apples, persimmon and a stony mineral edge. The minerals and rocky edges draw this to a surprisingly clipped finish. Medium to full bodied. This wine got a lot more interesting as it warmed up. Paired with Epoisses and Grayson cheeses. The pairing, while appropriate, emphasized the austere components of both the wine and the cheese. Impressively, this wine was able to stand up to the washed rind from the Epoisses.
