May 10, 2020 - From magnum, opened six hours before pairing with Mother's Day lasagna dinner. Initially, a medium red with orange highlights, and a nose of red currant, dry tobacco and leather. These were joined on the palate with dusty tannins. Not decanted but left open. Used a bit to cook with. Six hours later, now has blossomed nicely. Red plum, sandalwood, leather, touch of tobacco, orange rind, juicy tannins. Very nice, indeed! Excellent match for the somewhat spicy lasagna. Naturally, our last bottle. Well-stored examples should be fine for a few more years.

June 30, 2017 - From Magnum. I was concerned about whether hot year would work out for this wine. Kind of. The fruit was clearly a bit burnt but not quite stewed. Nonetheless, there were still plenty of traditional Nebbiolo elements coming through including forest floor, black and red cherries.
