January 13, 2024 - Fresh olives, yellow wax beans, shellfish? Interesting bitter palate, but a terrible pairing with potato chips and french onion dip….poor decision!

December 30, 2023 - Blind tasting. Pnp in zalto. Nice matue hue. Nose of kersosen, jamy exotic fruits as pineapple, oxydised mango, old brown apples. Palate elegant, polished and calm down obviouly by time. Balanced bitter and acidity. Remaining dried exotics. Mistook for an old Brand GC riesling. An exceptionnal experience. 92.
Will retaste again this old beauty soon.

August 2, 2023 - As it was in my previous assessment but drank next to the 2003, this was less evolved and more open. Also more balanced and approachable.

June 27, 2023 - A word first about the cork, of exemplary quality. Here the domain does not make fun of the world, and I had already noticed it on the reds. 18 years old and the cork is clean, long and barely soaked.

On the nose, the grilled and toasted aromas are largely dominant. Maybe a little too much for my taste. The rest is struggling to break through behind this curtain.

On the palate, the juice is very dense. We are far from pure and stony chenin, here the wine is ample, almost fatty, with beautiful oxidative notes. Flavors of white fruits such as apple mingle with flint. There is a very nice maturity with enough tension to launch the wine towards a good balance. The finish has a touch of dry bitterness that has been debated, before unfolding on a serene and stony length.

Very good wine but not sure if this is the style of chenin I prefer.

July 10, 2022 - Lemon yellow color. Nice, distinct nose. Drinks like a GC white burgundy. Acidity is no longer sharp, but keeps the wine very fresh. Very elegant to drink. Probably at peak. Decanting not needed. I would drink up bottles soon.
