June 8, 2014 - A year later and this is drinking even better with the graphite taste that first turned me off almost completely gone. This is very enjoyable on its own with lots of citrus notes.

August 6, 2013 - We drank this over a period of a couple of weeks and the improvement from a year ago was remarkable. There is just a lot of fun stuff going on in the bottle and it tastes great with grilled fish. Citrus notes, but butter and a little charcoal too. Long and rich and delicious. I am happy to have this in the cellar.

2011 German Catalog, 3/1/2011 (link)(Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett) ($26.00) We’ll stay with the ’08 while supplies last, a big juicy soulful Mosel wine, with a reverb of mid-palate energy burnishing down into a limey smoky finish. The 2009 is a big glam Kabinett in Selbach’s context, but what really impresses is how a jab of slatey precision pierces through the kafir and apple first impression, giving a tactile palate double-take as you see it’s not quite the wine you expected, but rather a classic Mosel.
