  January 25, 2011 - WSET Intermediate Course, Session 1 Tastings (Washington Wine Academy, Arlington, VA): Appearance: clear, pale intensity, ruby. Nose: clean, light intensity, fruit: mixture of red and black fruits - red cherry, raspberry, blackberry, spice: red pepper, a red stewed bell pepper component (almost Sangiovese-like), vegetal: a distinct herbal component, other: earth, tannin. Palate: dry, low-medium acidity, low-medium tannin, medium body (with a bit of alcohol heat and sweetness), black fruit, chocolate, medium length/finish (which tasted very artificial). Conclusion: acceptable.

  October 22, 2010 - Poured through aerator spout. Black cherry, brown spice, along with some sauerkraut on the nose. Black fruit on the palette with notes of chocolate and vanilla. Good finish. Nice balance. I could do without the sauerkraut smell, but it is very subtle. Very good wine overall.
