June 2, 2021 - Not much to add to my previous note other than to say this was better on the second night. Tannins really quite chalky initially but sweetness of fruit and the weight came into better balance. Guessing there's the possibility that they will become better integrated with further bottle age.

May 3, 2019 - Took to DT's to drink and no notes at the time. From memory, really mature colour and pronounced nose. Classic Barolo notes: Tar, roses, licquorice (?). Overall impression was very evolved, almost savoury.
On the palate there was good intensity but the tannins were initially quite intrusive when exploring teh flavours. It was double decanted but it was only after 90 mins/2 hours that it really came into balance and started to sing. I'd probably drink the last of these in no more than 2 years, given teh evolution shown.

Toll

November 2, 2014 - Nice wine, drinking well, probably not going to get a whole lot better. Acid fully resolved, still tannic. By the time the tannins soften, I think the acid will be gone and the wine will seem flaccid. My advice, drink soon. Garnet color, not much bricking yet at all, note of berry, black fruit, eucalyptus, dried flowers. Palate is medium-rich, with black cherry, blackberry, mint, cocoa. Medium-short finish. Really started to lose power and intensity after a couple hours of opening the bottle. After 4 hours, tannics were aggressive, and the fruit had died off.

June 2, 2014 - Still quite tight, but unwinds enough with a bit of time in the glass. Acidity is strong, and the fruit is luscious. Tanins are in check. Probably will be better with a couple more years, but no harm in drinking now.
