Community Tasting Notes 1

  • Portland Pinot Pigs Likes this wine: 85 points

December 29, 2023 - We purchased this on a whim after tasting a 2007 Belle Pente in 2022 that knocked our socks off. I remember having some 750s of the Nicholas awhile back and enjoying them a great deal and Jessica was lovely enough to part with one of her last large formats of this. We were thrilled with it. It had that lovely pinot stank that blew off quickly and after about an hour it was simply delicious. So many memories of Howard who's fingerprints seemed to be all over this wine. We toasted to his honor. By hour 2, the peak had ebbed - it was still enjoyable but the high notes seemed to dissipate somewhat. But what a vintage and what an honor to get to taste this lovely blast from the past.
