Community Tasting Notes 9

September 29, 2012 - Deep purple color with a ruby rim. Black at the center. At first, aromas of barnyard, earth, whiff of sulfer which blew off. Good mouthfeel, medium body and weight. Raspberry, red cherry, spice and tobacco flavours. Hot finish. Decent wine for the price but won't buy again. The 07 is at or beyond peak, drink now.

October 27, 2010 - Huge nose of ripe raspberry and plum with some garrigue. Juicy, ripe fruit on the palate as well but not overextracted or jammy. Some minerality comes through the midpalate and well-integrated tannins provide a nice, long finish. This isn't intellectual, just pure drinking pleasure and a great value. (Fifth bottle this year, first note, all but one bottle have been this good.)

October 15, 2010 - The wine changed quickly over 30 minutes, indicating to me it will only improve for about 12-16 months.

Red fruits, not typical dark black fruits, very fine tannins, some slight petrol with rose petal...lacking in savage, but good. You could tell it was Grenache based, but none of the plumb that is typical down in that region.

September 13, 2010 - Well made GSM ,70% Grenache, darker Red than others, black fruit, bit tart, but good balance overall; I suspect better with more cellar time or bottle aging; good to drink now but hold few years if can.

January 17, 2010 - Full ruby color. Nose: cigar box, black cherry, and spiced plum cake. Palate: black plum, black cherry, clove, and cinnamon. Silky tannins. Solid acidity. Lingering apple/plum skin on the finish. Moderate length. Straightforward and very enjoyable. Another excellent '07 Rhone value.
