October 7, 2010 - Lovely bouquet of red fruit and earth. This continues onto the palate, remarkable consistency between the nose and palate. Nice weight, average finish. Had it sans food, but better as a food wine I suspect. Despite 14.9% alcohol, not hot, balanced. Very mild tannins, might as well drink it now while it has the pleasant combination of fruit and body. A blend of 27% Cab, 27% Petite Verdot, 20% Cab Franc, 17% Merlot, 8% Malbec. I have had this three times, twice at the winery and another at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills at a Central Coast tasting event. All three times I was poured by the wine room manager who is a real gem of a guy. I think this wine is better than their 2007 version which I had as well soon after bottling. In speaking with the manager, it seemed the '07 would come around in time.
