February 18, 2013 - Cellar clearance 2013 (our house): This bore evidence of the oakiness of its youth with some spice and residual vanilliin elements as well as some glossiness on the palate. Rec cherry fruit accompanies the oak elements. Fairly big but not OTT, it still is a fairly boring example of the genre.

January 23, 2012 - Day 1 this wine was a bit flabby, hot, and felt extracted like an 06. The mouthfeel was viscous. Day 3 under cork on the counter, a nice lithe high toned-fruit delicate pinot emerged without signs of oxidation. I doubled checked the label and it surprisingly, it still was the Marylhurst bottling. The label hadn't morphed over the 3 days! My experience with this since its release is the former, likely due to my consumption within 4-10 hours of opening. My opening advice based upon an N of 1 this bottle: open it and leave it under a cork on the counter for a few days.

May 26, 2010 - Open 8 hours: lightly astringent nose with nice dark strawberries and cherries showing through. Some vanilla shows from the oak as well along with light earthy aromas. The palate is quite pleasing with the fruit, the cherries play strongest here. Full-bodied for an '07.The acidity and tannins are pretty light and have very nice feel in the mouth. The fruit is dominate early on with the structure coming in later, leaving tart fruit flavors on the finish. This tastes quite nice and is drinking well now. No real fireworks, just a nice drinking, pleasing Pinot Noir.

April 17, 2010 - Dundee Hills Passport Tour (Dundee Hills AVA, OR): A bit more fruit in this one, strawberries and bitter cherries coming in on the finish. Some tobacco too, which is a nice surprise. Acidity is more under control than the Treehouse also.

August 1, 2009 - Weird nose on this one, light raw beef along with low intensity strawberries and cinnamon spices. Some green wood/vine in there as well. The nose left me baffled but the palate delivered. Pure strawberry/raspberry fruit with a nice low-medium intensity, nice medium acidity and grippy tannins. The finish carries some tart cranberries and tart grape with acidity and tannin that lingers like I just ate a tart grape, seeds and all. Enjoyable although I think this will really come together in a couple years.
