February 8, 2009 - I was first struck by the color of this wine, which made me sit down and start a tasting note. almost black, but limpid with a hit of fine suspended tannins.good beefy nose with some dark plum, rich berry notes but not overwhelming. some pretty violet, shows much out of the bottle. the palatte needs some time to integrate and open up. coffe and blackberry/ grainy somewhat bitter tannins. full silky body.
