April 17, 2024 - A magnum from the Yalumba museum. A fresh nose of lemon and lime and slate. There’s just a hint of toasty development. Great intensity and vibrancy in the mouth. Rich and detailed. A finish that is energetic and long. In the perfect place.

August 24, 2015 - Bright yellow. Lots of petrol and flowers on the nose - an odd but enticing blend of aromas. Lemons, grapefruit, kero, honey, toast on the palate. Just a hint too much kero for me but still very enjoyable. Long flavours.

April 13, 2015 - Enjoyed this. While it has sufficient acidity and is not flabby, it comes across as very round, without a lot of sharp cut or rough edges. At this stage maybe rubber is the wrong descriptor; it's quite savory, a bit like a dry Riesling from Austria or Alsace, with some dry herbs (but without an herbal edge: melded from long stewing, let's say), some rockiness, a bit of waxy peach and pear, and un poco diesel. Can't quite put my finger on why, but it was less synergistic with food (this time: pasta with chicken and a ricotta-based sauce that included a goodly glug of this wine) than I'd expect of a broadly similarly Austrian Gruner or Riesling. Was OK with the chow, but didn't dance with it, even as it seems like it should be so inclinced; quite nice on its own merits though. Seems to have plenty of time left for evolution.

March 21, 2014 - - Light gold color with medium forming legs and aromas of rubbery, geranium and lemon. It's balanced and has flavours of lemon, peach, diacetyl (butter) and diesel with a medium body. Oily texture with a long finish.

January 12, 2014 - Easy drinking dry riesling, less fruit than the preferred Grosset Springvales and Número Uno Polish Hill.
    Value at this price point.
