November 7, 2022 - A great wine, served double blind in a flight of 11 comparable red wines, ranked 1st by me, last by the group, and correctly guesse as Valbuena by me. It had that signature wild Vega Sicilia funk. Complex and evolving over the night, this is what you hope for from a 40 year old wine. Easy to drink, this is certainly ready and needs no more aging. I wish the 1983 Pichon Lalande, 1990 Figeac, 1991 Tongi, and 1991 Cask 23 held up half as well. Fortunately 1990 Ridge MB delivered as usual.
