June 11, 2013 - Appearance very dark crimson, almost opaque. Layered and complex, minerals, earth, leather, heather, herbs, cassis, leafy notes all showed themselves over the 3 x hrs drinking time. The palate was full and rich with chalky tannins though beautifully balanced with alcohol totally in check. Very cool with refreshing acidity, so drinkable. Mencia's similarities to Cabernet Franc shinning through here, really was showing superbly tonight.

un nez sur les fruits acidulés tel que la cerise, un beau petit boisé rappelant la vanille, un soupçcon de chocolat noir,
au palais c'est très bien, un berau jus frais, un peu acidulé, terreur, belle fraîcheur, petite touche épicée avec une finale subtile en vanille, on y retrouve également une dose animale sur le cuir. Bien fait, les tannins sont présents sans être agressifs, le vin s'améliore avec le temps. Les dernières coupes étient fantastique. Pas le meilleur RQP, mais tout de même pas gênant à ouvrir. -

March 24, 2012 - Nice nose of cherry, vanilla and berries. Nice very round tannins. Could keep another year, but probably not more.
