  February 3, 2017 - Texas Wine School, Luxury Wines of Italy Class. Medium (+) gold and amber, slightly cloudy. The nose is clean, with Sherry-like aromas of toasted almond, caramel, dried figs and Christmas cake spices. There's still some ripe apricot in the background. The palate is off-dry to medium sweet, with medium (+) acidity and nice burnt molasses bitterness on the long finish. The alcohol is high at (15%), but is unobtrusive and seems a lot lower. The mouthfeel is round at first, with a nice, crisp palate-cleansing finish. The overall effect is that of a medium-bodied, nicely lifted wine. It tastes surprisingly youthful despite almost 20 years of age. It is drinking well now and probably has several years left. This is quite a treat even a week after being opened. 93+
